Sally Nicholson

COUNTY — Sally Nicholson, director of Student Nutrition Services for the School District of Pickens County, has been named the 2013 Outstanding Dietician of the Year by the Piedmont Dietetic Association.

She was presented with the award at the SDPC board meeting on May 28.

“Sally has long been recognized as a pioneer in our field, and she makes a positive impact on those 16,000 students, serving almost 3 million meals a year,” said Sandra Jordan, treasurer of the Piedmont Dietetic Association. “She was chosen out of about 500 dieticians in the Upstate.”

“I am very honored and humbled to be recognized among my peers,” Nicholson said.

The Piedmont Dietetic Association (PDA) is one of the five district associations of the South Carolina Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (SCAND), serving the members of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in Upstate South Carolina.
