EASLEY — SHINE Soup Kitchen is holding its annual lunch bag fundraiser event on Thursday, June 27.

The event is sponsored by the SHINE board of directors.

With doors open Monday through Friday every week, the kitchen at SHINE (Stopping Hunger in Nearby Easley) feeds more than 10,000 people in the Pickens County community each year, and they need the help to make this possible for those in need.

Each $7 lunch bag comes with the choice of sandwich (ham and cheese or homemade chicken salad), chips, brownie and bottled water.

SHINE asks that all orders are faxed to (864) 752-0859 by Monday, June 24; for an order form or to phone in an order, contact Mary at (864) 608-1613 or Judy at (864) 423-1437. These are also the contact people for those who want or need more information.

Bagged lunches will be available for pick-up between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at 106 North Pendleton Street. Free delivery is available for orders of 10 and more.

Anyone interested in volunteering or offering financial support for SHINE’s efforts are are always welcomed.
