First-half deficit too much to overcome for Red Devils

LIBERTY — Entering region play fresh off a midseason bye week, the Liberty Red Devils faced the tall task of facing defending Region I-3A champion Seneca on Friday night.
On a night that featured the halftime induction of the first-ever class of the Liberty High School Athletic Hall of Fame, the Devils fell behind 24-0 in the first half before battling back into contention in an eventual 34-14 loss to the Bobcats.
Liberty entered the week 3-2 overall and riding a two-game winning streak, while Seneca made the trip to Red Devil Stadium sporting a 1-4 record.
