Spring art classes start April 23

COUNTY — The Pickens County Museum of Art and History announced recently that a new art class with instructor Jo Johnston will begin soon, and with sprng now upon us, it is a great time to work in the studio exploring all the possibilities at your fingertips when it comes to sketching, painting, and creating.

Draw, Paint, Create with Jo Johnston will be held on Thursdays, April 23 and 30 and May 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 10 a.m.-noon.

The six-week class being held in the Liz Smith-Cox Educational Studio is designed for anyone who wishes to develop an individual project, jump-start a project that has been on hold, or learn some new techniques in a favorite medium. It is also appropriate for beginners who have always wanted to try their hand at drawing or painting. The class will help students get started with lots of helpful basic instructions and a list of supplies. Supplies and formats will be discussed at the first class. Tuition for the class is $88, or $78 for museum members. Pre-registration is required. Tuition must be paid prior to the first class.

Classes will be held at the Pickens County Museum at 307 Johnson St. in Pickens. Each class is designed and offered on a six-week session basis only — no individual selected weeks option will be offered. Students will be notified if a class is cancelled or filled. If class is cancelled, all tuition will be reimbursed to registered students. No tuition will be reimbursed after the start date of the class.
