Vander Linden wins District 7 school board race

PICKENS — The Pickens County School Board’s newly created District 7 seat has finally been filled after a four-month ordeal that ended in a special election last week.
Retired educator Alice Hendricks Vander Linden beat local businessman Phillip Healy 434 votes to 201 to win the seat in the March 26 race.
After a November general election in which Healy appeared to win the seat by just 21 votes, Vander Linden appealed the outcome.
