Whittemore awarded Order of the Palmetto

EASLEY — Longtime Easley public servant David Whittemore said receiving the state’s highest civilian honor was “the biggest thing that’s ever happened to me.”
“I am so honored and humbled by this,” he said.
In recognition of decades of service to his community, Whittemore was awarded the Order of the Palmetto Sunday afternoon at Easley Presbyterian Church.
In his invocation, Rev. Dr. Bill Seel thanked God “for the joy of his occasion.”
