ymca awarded $22,700 from Toyota of Easley
EASLEY — The YMCA of Easley, Pickens and Powdersville announced that it received a $22,700 donation from Toyota of Easley.
“The YMCA of Easley, Pickens and Powdersville is honored to receive a $22,700 donation from Toyota of Easley,” said Tom Merritt, Capital Campaign Chairman of the Powdersville Y. “This generous grant will go to build an Aquatics Center at the Powdersville Y, creating a powerful magnet for connecting neighbors with one another.”
The local YMCA serves many purposes to the local community, including day camps for children. There has been a recent ground breaking ceremony for a new YMCA in Powdersville.
“This community has been good to us and we feel that it is important that we give back to the community” said Tommy Norris, of Toyota of Easley. “We hope that this raises community awareness and maybe more businesses will give as well.”
Toyota of Easley donates to a local charity each year by donating $100 for every vehicle retailed in the month of May. They have been doing this for over 25 years and the Pickens County YMCA has been the recipient of this donation several times.
