Community marks 10 years since murder on Main Street

PICKENS — It was a little past 5 p.m. on an ordinary Wednesday evening in downtown Pickens.
Folks were just getting off work, and attorney Redmond Coyle was leaving out the back door of his Main Street office, on his way to church.
Then, without warning, gunshots rang out from the nearby parking lot. Several of them, in rapid succession. Then, another lone shot.
Then, silence.
Coyle, a well-regarded 61-year-old lawyer and community leader, lay dead. And his assailant, Jerry Dean Crenshaw, who had lost two divorce cases
